Govt College Mokeri Dept of English Research Journal Crosswaves is an annual peer-reviewed interdisciplinary Research Journal from the PG Department of English & Centre for Research, Govt. College Mokeri. It is designed to publish research papers in interdisciplinary researches in humanities, with special focus on literary studies, gender equity, and social inclusion. The journal encourages interpretative criticism and fresh insights into new social, cultural and equity issues as well as readings on established authors/texts, seeking to generate a serious debate relevant to the present times.

Review Policy/ Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Govt College Mokeri Dept of English Research Journal Crosswaves undergo a rigorous blind peer review process to ensure impartial evaluation.

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents. Upon submission, manuscripts are screened by the editorial team to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and academic contribution
  • Adherence to submission guidelines
    Submissions that do not meet basic criteria may be desk-rejected.

Reviewers are selected based on their:

  • Expertise in the relevant field
  • Academic credentials
  • Experience with scholarly peer review

Reviewers evaluate submissions based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Clarity and coherence of argument
  • Theoretical and methodological soundness
  • Use of literature and references
  • Overall structure and language quality

We aim to complete the review process within 6 to 8 weeks. However, timelines may vary based on reviewer availability and the nature of revisions required.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept as is
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit
  • Reject

Authors will receive constructive feedback along with the decision.

Authors invited to revise and resubmit must do so within a stipulated timeframe (usually 4–6 weeks). A detailed response to reviewer comments must be included with the revised submission.

Plagiarism Check Policy & Commitment to Academic Integrity

Govt College Mokeri Dept of English Research Journal Crosswaves is committed to publishing original research and do not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbatim copying of text without quotation and citation
  • Paraphrasing significant portions of another work without proper attribution
  • Using ideas, data, images, or code without acknowledgment
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s previously published work without disclosure)

All submissions are subjected to plagiarism screening using  iThenticate / Plagiarism Checker X before being sent for peer review.

A similarity index of less than 10% (excluding references and commonly used phrases) is considered acceptable. Authors are asked to revise the manuscript and properly attribute sources. The manuscript is rejected outright in case of major plagiarism. Authors must ensure the originality of their submissions. By submitting to the journal authors affirm that their work is free from plagiarism and has not been submitted or published elsewhere. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice will be issued on the journal’s website and in the relevant issue.

Instruction to Authors/Author Guidelines

General Submission Guidelines:

  • Word Limit: 2500-5000 words
  • MLA Style 9th edition.
  • Font – Times New Roman, Size-12, Line space 1.5
  • Title of the paper should be in Times New Roman, Boldface, Heading 14 size font, Central alignment.
  • Author’s name and affiliation to be included below the title (Times New Roman, 10 size font, right alignment)
  • Abstract and Keywords. The abstract should be maximum 150 words in length and provided at the beginning of the paper (after Title and author’s details) in italics. Footnotes and endnotes to be strictly avoided
  • Bibliography: A list of the cited works to be provided at the end of the paper in MLA 9th edn. format. For titles in non-English languages, the bibliography is to be provided in English (English transliteration)
